Parliamentary Elections 2021 – Statement by the Chief Returning Officer,
Dr Costas Constantinou, on the turnout of voters until 10 a.m.

The voting process for the election of the members of the House of Representatives continues smoothly, in absolute order and calm.

Ballots have just opened in the four polling stations in the United Kingdom, specifically in London. The operation hours at London polling stations are from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. with an interval from 12 noon until 12:30 p.m., local time.

Until 10:00 a.m. the turnout percentage of voters, island-wide, is 10,27%. In relation to the corresponding hour of the previous Parliamentary Elections in 2016, there is a slight increase of 0,3%.

Based on the persons registered in the special voting list for positive COVID-19 cases, there are nine Special Mobile Polling Stations: four in the District of Lefkosia, two in the District of Lemesos, and one each in the Districts of Larnaka, Famagusta and Pafos.

Of the 91 persons registered in the special voting list for positive COVID-19 cases, 39 (43%) have voted so far.
