Presidential Elections 2023 – Repeat election: The Chief Returning Officer replied to press questions in the framework of his statement on the recommencement of voting at 1.00 p.m.

The Chief Returning Officer, Dr Costas Constantinou in the framework of his statement on the recommencement of voting at 1.00 p.m. was invited to inform journalists about the next announcements regarding the election process.

The next announcement, the Chief Returning Officer said, "will be made at 3:15 p.m. on the results until 3 p.m. There will be another announcement at 5:15 p.m. on voter turnout until 5:00. At 6 p.m. there will be a statement that all polls have closed, so that the television stations can be released to announce the results of the exit polls. A little later, around 6.15-6.20 p.m. we will have the final results on the voter turnout in today’s vote.

Then, upon the completion of the process, he explained that there will be no announcement of the final results and that these could be viewed live on TV.

“Once we have the official final results, there will be an update”, he said. “With the announcement of the official final results, we will proceed with the drafting of the Minutes under the Decree, on the basis of which the proclamation will be held at the “Tassos Papadopoulos -Eleftheria” stadium” the Chief Returning Officer noted.

“This will be the flow of information from now on, and it goes without saying that if there is a need for an immediate briefing, I will be at your disposal here,” Dr Constantinou concluded.
